S O L D !

S O L D !
This car has been sold to Mr. Gabriel Lucero & Ms. Kate Sugarman of California
I plan on following up with him on his restoration efforts.

transported via DASH Auto Transport on 1/10/08

A father and son team from Moldova (originally) load up the Bimmer on
the back of a open transfer truck (DASH Auto Shippers)
at 10:30 PM... and off she goes.

*** 4/19/2009: I continue to receive monthly inquiries about the car, having sold it almost 1.5 years ago, I wish I had 10 more to sell. However, I do have a 1971 Alfa Romeo GTAm resto-mod up for grabs at www.AlfaRomeoGTAm.blogspot.com

New Pictures taken today

New pictures taken today to "show" close ups of the "bubbles" and rust are below. Incidentally, while I was pulling the car out of the driveway, the door swung open and hit the edge of my lawnmower and scratched the paint in the middle of the drivers side door. That is also noted. Digital pics from Walgreens came upside down and I did not have time to edit pictures before end of eBay auction... they are:

Rust (non structural) on underside airdam front drivers side

Marred rims.. almost all the rims show some wear but this one is the worst.

Drivers side lower quarterpanel rust showing as bubble under paint... remember this picture is upside down.

Bubble on paint over left headlamp... leading edge of hood.

Very tiny (almost unnoticeable on passengers side)

Door dink.... just happened today... middle of drivers side door.

1973 BMW 2002 tii

A very clean example of a classic 1973 (Roundie) BMW 2002 Tii.

She has a rebuilt engine & transmission completed 4 years ago on this car by a previous owner. Today this car is still in very good condition. With a clean title and no negative history or stories I know of. Odometer reads just over 68K (but may have turned over once, not sure).

No significant rust noted (no structural rust I can determine, but some paint "bubbles" have been noted in the last few months seen on leading edge of hood and drivers side lower quarter panel and on the lower left air dam). Engine runs smooth, no smoke, no oil leaks (oil pan plug does "sweat" a bit but no true leak, no mess on my garage floor). She was repainted (bare metal, glass out) in a light blue (Fjord Blue) a little over 4 years ago (not the best paint job I must admit). At repaint she got a new windshield. All rubber moldings/seals are new around windshield. Under body and trunk were sprayed with sealer. She had a new radiator out of a 320i and new hoses and belts as of last year. Sorry no papers or documents on the work.. was a verbal report given me by previous owner a year ago. Rather good condition of interior for a 30 year old car. Carpet clean and without wear, back seats are pristine, front seats show some typical wear but no tears or holes. MOMO Steering wheel.

She boasts a working sunroof and a Blaupunkt stereo system with CD player. I must say she is a great daily driver [I drive 1.5 miles to work 4 time a week and take a monthly make a trip from the Florence, SC area to Durham, NC to see my kids. The rest of the time she is garaged]. The sale includes all original BMW owners manuals and CD owners manual.

OK the bad: Dash has a single small crack forming in center (very very small) not visible from the drivers seat. The wheels have taken some hits against the curb by the last owner and show scratches and dings (if I were to keep her I would replace or refinish the wheels). The tires have about 50% tread life on them. Most of her chrome trim show scratches and wear, lots of dings here and there. The chrome bumpers are in pretty rough shape (dents and scratches & pitting throughout). NO AC (a negative in the South).

All gauges & lights work, yet the Clock lights up but does not work and the turn signals do not cancel most of the time. Again I will mention that some bubbles are appearing on the leading edge of the hood and right quarter panel rear & air dam notice in the last few months.

She makes for a very nice daily driver -OR- a car to take to a show car for a bargain since all the parts are there and only some fine-tune finishing would be needed. I have done my best to describe this vehicle, she is a must see, must have for a 2002 tii enthusiast.

This vehicle is being sold "AS IS", and there are no warranties expressed or implied herein. Asking $12,500.00. NADA.com rates High Retail sale price at $16,200.00+. I have seen fully restored cars go for $40K. Will not consider trade so please don't ask. This car has won 2 trophies at recent car shows (Hope Mills, NC [Top 50 award] car show & Bennettsville, SC [Best in Class] car show both in 2007).

No this is NOT my car, but if I were to keep her to restore this is what I would go for.
